Welcome to The Ska Podcast, a super rad show that celebrates the wonderful world of Ska music. Each week I find an interesting thread related to ska, pick it up, and see where it leads. From two tone to third wave, trumpets to synthesizers, and everything else that lies somewhere in the between this is a fun journey through time and space, or at least that's the impression that I hope you get. Whether you're at a backyard pool party or here in your bedroom, grab some mozzarella sticks and turn up the sound system.

Chris Raub joins the show today to share his experience as a ska fan and musician from the 90's through today. For me, hearing from truly talented musicians on what stands out the most about ska is fascinating. •Send a voice, text, or video message to be included in a future episode! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🎙Ready to start your own podcast? Mike's back and this time he's been doing some research to take us on a journey through the different "waves" of ska, beginning with early roots in 1940's Jamaica all the way through the current scene and everything somewhere in the between. @mikethealvarez on Twitter •Send a voice, text, or video message to be included in a future episode! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🎙Ready to start your own podcast? Series Episode 4
This week I want to take a trip back in time to October 25, 2002 when I went to an Aquabats concerted that literally altered the course of my life and set me on the path to be where I’m at today. It was an incredible experience that solidified The Aquabats and ska as not just something I enjoy, but a core part of my DNA. That sounds scientific. The reason for sharing this story is to explore the insanely profound impact that music can have on someone. If you’ve had a similar experience or a thought that you want to share– heck, if your were even at this same show– I’d love to hear from you. •Send a voice, text, or video message to be included in a future episode! 🎶 🎺 Original theme music written by Patrick Boberg and performed by Mike Alvarez •Send a voice, text, or video message to be included in a future episode! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• YouTube: www.youtube.com/tombuck 🎙Ready to start your own podcast? The Ska Journey continues with Mike Alvarez, one of my best friends for nearly 20 years, professional music educator, and active musician in the ska scene. Last week I shared how ska came into my life, and now I want to hear another story about what happens when you discover ska during your formative years and how it can impact every other part of your life. •Check out Mike and his Bands: @mikethealvarez on Twitter •Send a voice, text, or video message to be included in a future episode! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 🎙Ready to start your own podcast?
